Park alongside the River Lee between Lee Boat Club and Shandon Boat Club. Register before 10.45 am

Courses:

LONG SCATTER  (Mass start at 11 am) - any 18 of 20 controls
MEDIUM SCATTER (Mass start at 11.10 am) - any 13 of 20 controls
SHORT SCATTER (Mass start at 11.20 am) - any 8 of  20 controls
ORANGE (Start anytime from 10.30 am onwards) - 4.5 km / 13 controls

Short, Medium and Long "scatter" courses will be available.  These fun events will (hopefully) be attractive to newcomers as an easy introduction to Orienteering. To make them sociable, it is hoped that they will start and finish near a café/coffee dock and will be in the city parks. 

We put out 20 controls. All controls are on all maps.  Controls can be taken in any order. There are 3 courses: the Long course have to get any 18,  Medium 13 and the Short any 8.
Everyone gathers around at the start point 10 minutes before the appointed time. We give them maps. No looking at maps until the GO!

There will be 3 Mass Starts. The first at 11.00 for the Long Course. This will be followed by the Middle followed by the Short. At the moment ... 10 minute gap between each start ... but this might be increased to 15 minutes.

Event entry fees: Families €20, adults €8, students €6, juniors €5. Pre-entry required to guarantee that maps are available for you on the day. Some entries accepted on the day but mainly for the shortest course. Entries on-line at www.orienteering.ie before 6 pm the previous day. If you are unable to enter on orienteering.ie web site before 6 pm the previous day or if you miss the 6 pm deadline then send e-mail to  bishopstownoc@gmail.com before 8 pm the previous day (include names, courses required and number of maps required per course; SI card number). SI cards can be hired on the day at €1 (€35 if lost or damaged). For all events, unless otherwise stated Start Times are 10.30 am to 12 noon and courses close at 1 pm. GROUP RATES available from bishopstownoc@gmail.com.

If you enter on the day, we may not have maps for you and it will also cost you more as follows:
