UCCO Sprint Relay
Proceeds to Irish Junior Squad (6 BOC juniors on 2015 Home International
Team, 3 BOC juniors at 2015 European Youth Orienteering Championships & 1
BOC junior at 2015 Junior World Orienteering Championships).
Registration & entry on the day at 1200, mass start 1300, two-person
relay teams.
UCC Orienteering Club will be hosting the last race of
the Irish Campus Sprint Series 2016 on Saturday 19th March.
The format for this will be a 2-person sprint relay (1 leg per runner) with a
mass start at 13:00 from the Quad on UCC main campus. There will also be a
short course for younger juniors and families; this will be buggy friendly and
won’t involve crossing the main road. Registration/Collection of race numbers
(for the relay) and SI cards will be from 12:00 in the West Wing; just off the
Quad (we will have a flag and tent set up nearby). The relay format will be 2
people per team; 2 men on a team, 2 women on a team or a mixed team. These can
be from any clubs and any age categories. Parking will (hopefully) be in
the carpark of the Western Gateway Building although we are still awaiting
confirmation of this, and there will be a ~500m walk to the
assembly/registration/arena which will be marked. The short course will be an
entry on the day, although an online entry will lead to smoother organisation
on the morning, but we urge those interested in the relay event to
enter online prior to midnight on Monday 14th March so that we have enough time to print maps,
organise forkings etc. If you enter after this we cannot guarantee that there
