Gougane Barra event is now taking place!

Following clarification received from the Irish Orienteering Association / Sports Ireland, the event scheduled for Gougane Barra on Sun 23rd of August can now go ahead as planned. Details of the event are below. 

Sun 23rd and Wed 26th Aug

(1) Sunday Aug 23  GOUGANE BARRA FOREST PARK, Ballingeary (Yellow - Brown), park outside the Coillte pay-barrier (1 km in beyond the Hotel and the Church).

You MUST NOT attend this orienteering event if
1. You have been diagnosed with confirmed or suspected COVID-19 infection in the last 14 days
2. If you are a close contact of a person who is a confirmed case of COVID-19 in the past 14 days (ie. less than 2m for more than 15 minutes altogether in one day)
3. If you have been advised by a doctor to self-isolate at this time
4. If you are suffering now or have suffered any of the following symptoms in the past 14 days (Cough, fever, high temperature, sore throat, runny nose, breathlessness or flu-like symptoms, rash, loss of smell or taste)
5. If you have returned to Ireland from any other country within the last 14 days
 
Participants are asked not to travel to an event with anybody outside their household
All participants must adhere to the participant code of conduct (on orienteering.ie website)
All participants will be asked to give a contact phone number for traceability at the event
 
Red, Green, Blue and Brown courses will use SI only.
Yellow and Orange courses will NOT use either SI or punches so please bring a pen/pencil to write codes on your control card.
Please bring exact change (adults €8, children €4, students €5, family €15, rental SI €1)

MID - CROSSHAVEN – CARRIGALINE GREENWAY

Wed 5  Aug  MID - CROSSHAVEN – CARRIGALINE GREENWAY (W770613, Drake’s Pool public car park, on Carrigaline / Crosshaven road) Greenway Series 3 – 7 pm (6.0 km, 15 controls)

Pre-register at least 24 hours in advance

The full Government & HSE rules will apply (no touching people or equipment, no hugging, no handshakes; 2 metre distance apart at all times before, during and after the event, practice good cough and sneeze etiquette, know the symptoms, face mask?, etc.).

For Greenway Series of events:
You must give us your telephone number beforehand in case urgent tracing is required by the HSE.
Bring your own Hand Sanitising Gel

Pre-entry only and at least 24 hours in advance (maps will not be recycled) to bishopstownoc@gmail.com (You may not receive confirmation of your entry by return, due to computer problems but still please turn up for the event and we will have maps for you).
Bring exact entry fee, as no change will be given (place money in the box provided).
No touching of equipment (no manual punching and no electronic punching).
Bring your own pen / pencil to record answers at each control site and an A4 clear plastic bag for your map. 

Start and finish times will be recorded on the master-sheet and not on your control card (Check your answers afterwards and then place your completed control card into the box provided).
